A blog for the playlists: because I can’t pronounce some of these song titles

these songs come right from the CD Boldly Expressive: Music by Women, a compilation of classical pieces performed by Laura Kobayashi (violin) and Susan Keith Gray (piano), who is my aunt, and who graciously gave us some of her time to call in and talk about the music and the composers.

The show of the 19th will be a “Best Of” show I’m going to play all my favorite songs from the year’s playlists. I think it’ll be a good recap of my career as a DJ… especially as it’ll be my last show. The following week is the last week of classes (lots of projects) and after that are finals, graduation, and moving away! I’ll update later with more news about the possibility of continuing the show somehow (Podcast?).

Once again, muchas dificultades técnicas during this episode. Perhaps one of these remaining Wednesdays in the semester I’ll have a smooth-running show. Perhaps one day someone will discover Harrison’s family as a lost branch of the German royal family and reinstate them all as princes and princesses and I’ll get to be eine prinzessin and live in a castle on the Rhine.

This is not necessarily the order I played them in, because I left the station to get more music, imagining that the automation program would, gee, automatically play the line up I had made. No show this week - my birthday was Monday and for various reasons I had to have my celebratory dinner Wednesday night.  I promise, there will be a show April 5th.

The following are a few songs, the first three of which are from indie bluegrass bands, that I found and liked but didn’t want to swap out any of the other songs to play in my show.

Apologies once again for the technical difficulties that riddled this show. It’s a new automation system, and the ad-hoc technical director has pretty much had to learn the new radio operating system as well as the programming language for the automation program in the past week and a half. Round of applause for Jeff, please.

Due to spring break and equipment updates, there won’t be another show until March 22nd.

i apologize to anyone who listened to this show tonight. it was plagued with technical difficulties and just wasn’t pretty. i suppose that’s like the single folks who try to bash v-day probably just end up making themselves feel worse about it. good thing i’m not single. *grumbles* stupid equipment…
